Where are we located and Why?
A 15 minute ride from the Kotel and the heart of Yerushalayim, we are located in the warm community of Har Nof, the biggest and most notable Sephardic community in Israel. Har Nof is where Rav Ovadia Yosef chose to call home and you can still pray in the Rav’s house. As if this was not enough, Baalei Daat is located in the Seat of the Empire of Sephardic Scholars: Yechave Daat. Countless Torah scholars, young and old, spend hours a day, every single day, engrossed in their studies.
The boys of Baalei Daat build a personal relationship with these scholars, some of whom are the brightest luminaries of the Sephardic world. It’s not uncommon for our boys to be caught in conversation with a dayan, a rav of a shul, or another Halachic authority. And we are blessed that so many of these rabbanim live in Har Nof, so many of our boys can be found around their Shabbat table. Baalei Daat is the perfect place to live and grow in a Sephardic environment, surrounded and supported by the best the Sephardic world can offer.
